— Mrs. Orville Stutzman, 29, died unexpectedly Sunday evening while on duty as a nurse at the Bethesda Hospital in Goessel. Mr. Stutzman is administrator of the hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Pennsylvania Mennonite church near Hesston, with Rev. Earl Buckwalter in charge. Mrs. Stutzman was a graduate of the Bethel Deaconess Hospital school of nursing. In addition to her husband, she leaves two daughters, Twila and Bonita; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orville H. Voth of rural Newton; three brothers, Kendell [sic Kendall] and Oren Voth of Newton and Clyde Voth of Evanston, Ill.; and a sister, Lenora Voth of Newton.

— A large number of relatives and friends attended funeral services for Mrs. Orville Stutzman, R.N., held June 25 at the Pennsylvania Mennonite Church near Hesston. Rev. Earl Buckwalter, the pastor officiated and was assisted by Rev. J. J. Voth of North Newton. Services at the Miller Funeral Home were in charge of Rev. Ivan Lind. Mrs. Stutzman, the former Ilea Pearl Voth, died suddenly of a heart attack Sunday, June 22, near the close of her day's work at the Bethesda hospital in Goessel.

Ilea (Voth) Stutzman, daughter of Orville H. and Frances (Corfman) Voth, was born April 4, 1929, at Newton, Kan. and died suddenly of a heart attack on June 22, 1958, at the age of 29 years, 2 months and 18 days. Death came as she was finishing her day's work at the Bethesda Hospital, Goessel, Kan.

Ilea grew to womanhood in the community where she was born. After completing her elementary education, she attended Bethel College Academy, Newton, and Hesston College and Bible School, where she graduated from high school in the class of 1948. She also completed the pre-nursing course at Hesston College and entered nurses training at Bethel Deaconess Hospital, Newton, where she graduated with the March class of 1953.

On March 19, 1953 she was joined in marriage to Orville R. Stutzman. Two daughters, Twila Eileen, aged three, and Bonita Elaine, aged 15 months, blessed this home.

At the age of 15 she entered the catechism class of the Gnadenau (now known as the Grace Hill) Mennonite church near Whitewater, and was baptized on June 9, 1946 by Pastor J. J. Voth. In 1952 she transferred her membership to the Pennsylvania Mennonite church near Hesston.

In addition to her husband and children of Goessel, she leaves to mourn her departure her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orville H. Voth of rural Newton, three brothers, Clyde of Evanston, Ill., Oren and Kendell [sic Kendall] of Newton, one sister, Lenora, also of Newton, besides several uncles, aunts and cousins.

Ilea was a woman of strong character and conviction, with a positive Christian testimony. Her pleasant smile and cheery greeting were an integral part of her personality and won her a large number of freinds [sic]. She gave herself unstintingly to her profession as nurse as much as she felt her home duties allowed.

Funeral services were conducted June 25, 1958 at the Miller Funeral Home, Goessel, by Ivan R. Lind; and at the Pennsylvania church by her pastor, Earl Buckwalter, assisted by Rev. J. J. Voth. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery.

Among those coming from a distance for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Voth and Wayne Harms of Evanston, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stutzman, Betty Dorothy and Freda, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gudde, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Roth, Wilma and Frances and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Stutzman and children, all of Garden City, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Sam Wright, Silas Stutzman, Miss Lydia Stutzman, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Roth and Nellie King of Harrisonville, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne L. Stutzman and David of Chelsea, Mich.; and Mr. and Mrs. Harley Yoder and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bryan of Lawrence, Kan.

Fellow-workers at the Bethesda Hospital, and the businessmen of Goessel have started a fund for the purchase of an incubator for the hospital nursery in memory of the late Ilea Stutzman, R. N. Since her last day on duty had been devoted so faithfully to the care of the infants in the nursery, including two sets of twins, the family and friends feel this is a fitting memorial. Friends and organizations who wish to contribute to this fund may send their donations to Bethesda Hospital, Goessel, Kan.
