Abraham D. Stutzman, son of David E. and Susanna (Mast) Stutzman, was born at Walnut Creek, Holmes county, Ohio, January 13, 1879.

He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ezra Jantzi, on Jan. 4, 1947, at the age of 67 years, 11 months and 22 days. He had been failing in health the past six months. His death came suddenly, resulting from a heart attack just after retiring for the night.

In his youth he accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and became a member of the East Fairview church near Milford, Nebr.

On February 19, 1901, he was united in marriage to Sarah Miller, who preceded him in death on June 14, 1940. To this union were born eight children.

He is preceded in death by one infant son, his parents, three sisters, one brother, and four grandchildren.

Surviving are four sons, Willard W. of Corry, Pa., Vernon M., Wattsburg, Pa., Clarence D., Wood River, Nebraska, Eldon A., Twin Falls, Idaho; three daughters, Beulah (Mrs. Ezra Jantzi), Florence (Mrs. Orval Schweitzer) of Wood River, Nebraska, Arla (Mrs. Willard L. Stutzman) Sweet home, Oregon; 27 grandchildren; three brothers, Alvin of Upland, Calif., Will of Tofield, Alberta, and Milo D. of Kingman, Alberta; and a host of relatives and friends.

In the year of 1914 he was chosen by lot to the office of deacon at the East Fairview church. In 1916 he and his family moved to Wood River, where he also served as deacon until 1940, when he moved to Filer, Idaho, and transferred his membership to the Filer congregation. He was a member there until the time of his death.

In August he came back to spend the winter months with his children at Wood River, Nebr., where he peacefully fell asleep and passed from the earth to the glorious beyond.
