• Funeral services were conducted Sunday at the Hopefield Mennonite Church near Moundridge for Mrs. Peter B. (Naomi) Stucky, 80, who died Aug. 14 at Mercy Hospital. Survivors include four sons, Orlin and Clifford, both of Moundridge, Milford of Newton, and Marvin of Galva; three daughters, Martha Stucky of Moundridge, Mrs. Ruth Stucky of Peabody, and Mrs. Bertha Juhnke of Hutchinson; five brothers and one sister; 21 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Naomi Goering Stucky, daughter of John F. and Freni (Schrag) Goering, was born near Halstead, Kan. on Jan. 25, 1889. She received her elementary education in Harvey and McPherson Counties.

At an early age she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour and Lord. She was baptized upon her confession of faith by Rev. N. R. Kaufman and became a member of the Hopefield Mennonite Church where she remained a faithful member until her death.

On March 19, 1911, she was married to Peter P. Stucky by Rev. John J. Stucky. This union was blessed with four sons and eight daughters. Her husband and five daughters preceded her in death.

Since 1967 she had been in failing health and had been under doctors' care. On July 30, 1969, she was again admitted to the Mercy Hospital in Moundridge where all was done humanly possible, but the Lord saw fit to take her to her heavenly reward on Thursday, Aug. 14. She reached the age of 80 years, six months and 20 days.

She was a devoted and loving mother who was deeply concerned about the spiritual welfare of her children, their families and others in need, for whom she spent many long hours in prayer and service. Her deep and abiding faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was evident by her words and deeds. She was one of those who endured hardships and trials with a smile and no complaints. Mother will be greatly missed, especially her Christ-like love and tender compassion.

She leaves to mourn her departure her bereaved family: four son, Orlin and Clifford of the home, Milford and wife Martha of Newton, Marvin and wife Florene of Galva; three daughters, Martha of the home, Ruth and husband Melvin Stucky of Peabody, Bertha and husband Carl Juhnke of Hutchinson; 21 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Eli and wife Sarah of Galva, Jonas of Buhler, John and wife Rose Mary of Galva, Joe and wife Elma of Moundridge, Jacob and wife Anna of Galva; one sister, Anna Goering of Newton; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law; Jacob D. Stucky, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. C. Gehring, and Mrs. Ben B. Stucky; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
