Bernhard (Ben) B. Stucky, son of Joseph P. and Anna (Kaufman) Stucky, was born on Nov. 18, 1887 in McPherson County, Kan. near Moundridge. He was baptized into the Mennonite church at Moundridge in 1904.

In 1896 he along with his parents moved to Oklahoma where they lived for a time in Washita County and later in Caddo County. Later they returned to Kansas to the Pretty Prairie area.

He was married to Carolina Zerger in 1913 in Lamar, Colo., after which they traveled west to Monroe, Wash. to establish their home. He and his wife were privileged to spend 50 years of married life together. Shortly after their 50th anniversary in 1963, his wife passed away and he went to make his home with his daughter at Monroe, Wash.

He leaves to mourn his departure two daughters and their families, Gertrude and husband Clarence Schwartz of Monroe, and Doris and husband Orlan Albright of Pretty Prairie, Kan.; a sister, Mrs. Ida Albright of Pretty Prairie; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A son, Ernest, preceded him in death in 1936.

His life was rooted and centered in God and both he and his wife were active in church life. He remained a member of the First Mennonite Church of Monroe, Wash. where he was a charter member, until the time of his death.

His full and active life ended after a short illness on Oct. 21, 1969 at Valley General Hospital in Monroe. He reached the age of 81 years and 11 months. Funeral services were held at the First Mennonite church at Monroe, with Rev. George Kopper and Rev. Frank Ewert officiating.

BERNHARD B. STUCKY

Bernhard (Ben) B. Stucky, son of Joseph P. and Anna (Kaufman) Stucky, was born on Nov. 18, 1887 in McPherson County, Kan. near Moundridge. He was baptized into the Mennonite church at Moundridge in 1904.
