Aldene Fern Stucky

MOUNDRIDGE—Aldene Fern Stucky, 82, of Newton, died Wednesday (Dec. 23, 2009) at the Memorial Home in Moundridge.

She was born on Aug. 25, 1927, in Hillsboro, the daughter of Henry and Marie Funk Duerksen.

Aldene married Melvin R. Stucky on June 28, 1948, in Newton.

A loving wife, Aldene enjoyed traveling with her husband, cross-stitching, scrapbooking and gardening. She also enjoyed teaching Sunday school to children, singing, playing piano and attending Bible studies.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin, of the home in Newton; one son, Richard K. Stucky and wife, Barbara, of Denver; one daughter, Donna Louise Williams, and husband, Keith, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three brothers, Jay Duerksen of Valley Center, Monroe Duerksen of Lenexa and Dillard Duerksen of Valley Center; two sisters, Leona Arthurs of Red Feathers Lake, Colo., and Janice Dyck of Bessie, Okla.; grandchildren, Greg and wife, Dana Williams, Laura and husband, Trevor Killip; and great grandchildren, Annie Williams and Isaac Killip.

Aldene is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Deloise Ann Duerksen.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p. m. Sunday at Broadway Colonial Fuernal Home in Newton with the family greeting friends at this time.

Graveside services and interment will be at 10 a. m. Monday at Restlawn Gardens of Memories.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a. m. Jan. 2 at Koerner Heights Church of the Mennonite Brethren in Newton.

Memorials have been established with World Vision or Koerner Heights Church of the Mennonite Brethren; contributions may be left at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, KS 67114.
