— Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Stucky, 74,long-time resident of the Pretty Prairie community, were held at the First Mennonite Church there last Friday. She died at Galloway Hoispital [sic] in Anthony on April 18. Surviving are her husband, R. J. Stucky, four daughters, five sons, 26 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

EMMA KAUFMAN STUCKY

Emma Kaufman Stucky, daughter of John and Anna Kaufman, was born on Dec. 31, 1886 in Turner County, South Dakota. At the age of five she moved with her parents to the Moundridge, Kan. community where she received her formal education.

She was baptized upon the confession of her faith by Rev. Christian J. Goering and was received into the membership of the Eden Mennonite Church of Moundridge on May 18, 1902.

On Dec. 1, 1904 she was married to Rudolph J. Stucky with who she was privileged to share life's joys and sorrows for 56 years. To this union were born 12 children. Three sons preceded her in death : two died in infancy, and Harvey at the age of 28. They moved to Pretty Prairie, Kansas in 1920 and transferred their membership to the First Mennonite Church where she remained a faithful member until her death.

She will be remembered for her kindness and her concern for the needs and the welfare of others.

Her health had been failing for some time and on April 12 she was admitted to the Galloway Hospital of Anthony. After a week at the hospital she passed to her eternal reward on April 18, 1861 at the age of 74 years, three months and 18 days.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Rudolph; four daughters, Selma (Mrs. Ed H. Graber, Mabel (Mrs. Walter J. Graber), Lillie (Mrs. Irvin R. Graber), all of Pretty Prairie, and Ruth (Mrs. Waldo J. Flickinger) of Dallas, Oregon; five sons, Martin of Murdock, Phil H. of Hutchinson, Gilbert and Delmer of Pretty Prairie, and LeRoy of Warsaw, Ind.; four sons-in-law, and five daughters-in-law and Mrs. Donald Graber, formerly Mrs. Harvey Stucky; 26 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; one brother Jonathan of Freeman, S. D.; one sister, Anna (Mrs. D. J. Zerger) of Moundridge; one half-brother, Elias W. Schrag of Moundridge, one step-brother, John E. Schrag, and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Elias W. Schrag, and a host of relatives and friends.
