Birth date: 1883 Dec 15
text of obituary:
MRS. JOHN STUCKY
Adina Stucky, daughter of Rev. Peter and Barbara Stucky, was born Dec. 15, 1883, in McPherson County, Kan. She grew to womanhood on a farm west of Moundridge and attended the rural school of her district. Upon confession of her faith she was baptized by Rev. J. B. Baer on April 25, 1897, and was received into the Eden Mennonite Church, of which she remained a faithful member for the rest of her earthly life.
On Dec. 2, 1902, she was united in marriage with John T. Stucky. This union was blessed with two sons and one daughter. They made their home on a farm northwest of Moundridge. This union was broken by death on May 19, 1911.
Mother enjoyed comparatively good health and worked hard to provide for the needs of her family. About seven years ago her health began to fail. In October of 1958 she entered the Memorial Home for the Aged at Moundridge. Here she had the misfortune of breaking her hip, after which she was unable to walk by herself. She spent much time in her wheelchair, reading and doing such things as she could. For some time as an invalid she was unable to communicate with her loved ones and friends due to her more recent illnesses, and she had to patiently endure the handicap. When her condition became worse she was taken to the Mercy Hospital on Feb. 23, 1964. The Lord relieved her of her suffering on March 6, 1964, when she peacefully went to her heavenly home at the age of 80 years, two months and 21 days.
Those she leaves to cherish her memory are: Two sons, Siegfried and Erwin; one daughter, Elsie; two daughters-in-law, (Edna) Mrs. Siegfried Stucky and (Bertha) Mrs. Erwin Stucky, both of Galva; and one son-in-law, Martin C. Schrag of Moundridge; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Gideon and Asa of McPherson, Naphtali, Silvanus and Ephraim of Moundridge, and many other relatives and friends.
Three brothers and three sisters who died in infancy, her parents, one grandson, one great-granddaughter, and two brothers, Ferdinand and Japhet, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held March 8, 1964 at the Eden Mennonite Church near Moundridge. Rev. Arnold Nickel officiating. — The Family.
