MRS. ROSA STROBEL

(Mrs.) Rosa Strobel of Waldheim, Sask. passed away on July 1. She was born to Peter and Louisa Regier on March 16, 1890 in southern Russia. In 1906 her family immigrated to Canada, settling in the Rosthern (Sask.) area. She was married to Jacob Strobel on August 8, 1909, settling eventually in the Salem district near Waldheim. It was in the early years of her marriage that she put her trust in Christ, was baptized and joined the Salem Krimmer Mennonite Brethren Church. In 1960 her membership was transferred to the Waldheim Mennonite Brethren Church where she became active in a neighborhood prayer group.

Her family and friends admired her industriousness throughout her life, especially during her final years when poor health limited her abilities. She was predeceased by her oldest son Edward in 1947, and by her husband a year later. She is missed by four sons: Reuben of Calgary, Harold of Clearbrook, B.C. and Walter and Alfred of Waldheim; their wives; two daughters: Mary (Mrs. Peter Friesen) of Waldheim, and Vera (Mrs. Cliff Jantzen) of Swift Current, Sask.; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. The memorial service was held in the Waldheim Mennonite Brethren Church, with John Goertzen officiating.
