AGNES STOBBE

Agnes Stobbe of Boissevain, Man. passed away Aug. 12. She was born Feb. 22, Hl28 to John and Maria Penner on the family farm near Morris, Man. Due to family illness, she spent several infant years in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Schultz. She graduated from Mennonite Collegiate Institute, attended Manitoba Teachers' College and then spent several years sharing her love of learning and books with her students. She got to know Peter Stobbe in 1949 and married him in 1953. She lavished love, tasty foods and measureless encouragement on her children. Her strength lay in her ability to visualize a challenge, organize and then act. Her 6 years of service with MCC were an outlet for her creativity and enthusiasm. She was named "Education Volunteer of the Year" by the State of Kentucky after 3 years of teaching with the Kentucky Valley Educational Co-op. She is mourned by her husband; sons Wes of Ninga, Man., James of Calgary and Robert of Winnipeg; daughters Sharon Loeppky of Morden, Man. and Naomi Reimer of Blumenort, Man.; 9 grandchildren; 1 sister and 5 brothers. The funeral was Aug. 15 in Boissevain MB Church, with Abe Froese and Wally Kroeker ministering.
