MAHLON H. STICHTER

Mahlon H. Stichter, 60, died unexpectedly of a heart attack early Tuesday morning, Feb. 19, in his home on Wabash avenue, Wakarusa, Ind. Mr. Stichter had not been feeling in his usual good health for several weeks, but his condition was not considered to be of a serious nature and he had worked as usual all day Monday at the carpenter trade for Brown & Brown. During Monday evening he complained of not feeling well and his condition became serious during the night, passing away about 4 o’clock.

He was born in Lagrange county March 9, 1891 the son of Henry and Lucy Stichter. The family later moved to White Cloud, Michigan, and the children grew up in that community. His marriage to Sarah Homes took place December 28, 1913.

The Stichter family have lived in their present home on Wabash avenue for the past year, moving here from Madison Township where Mr. Stichter had lived over, half of his life.

Surviving besides the widow is their daughter, Ruth, who attends Bethel college, Mishawaka; two brothers, Fred of Wakarusa, and Gordon of Bremen, a sister, Mrs. Sam (Maggie) Blosser of Goshen and eight nephews and eight nieces.

Mr. Stichter was of the Mennonite faith.

Funeral services were held Feb. 21 at the Stichter home and the Madison Union Chapel, Rev. Irvin Kanode and Erwin Thomas officiating. Burial was made in the Olive cemetery.
