LLOYD STEINER

Lloyd Steiner, son of Caleb and Fanny (Amstutf) [sic Amstutz] Steiner Nussbaum, was born two miles northeast of Kidron, Ohio on December 18, 1897, and passed away at the home of his brother Phares, one mile south of Dalton on October 1, 1952. He was aged 54 years, nine months and 13 days.

He was baptized and received into the fellowship of the Sonnenberg Mennonite church on April 10, 1914. In 1936 he married Marjorie Mallernee of Massillon. While residing in Massillon he transferred his membership to the Methodist church.

For more than 25 years he served as engineer in an ice plant in Canton. Because of ill health he has for the past while resided with his brother, Phares, during which time he faithfully attended services at the Kidron Mennonite church. During this time he was known to enjoy reading the Bible and church periodicals.

He is survived by his wife, who is a patient at the Massillon hospital; three brothers, Phares of Dalton, Homer of Apple Creek, R. D. 1, and Andrew of Stouffville, Ontario, Canada; and four sisters, Minnie (Mrs. Albert Steiner), Mrs. Martha Steiner, and Ida (Mrs. Hiram Sommer), all of Orrville, R. D. 2, and Alma (Mrs. Ezra Lehman) of Apple Creek, R. D. 1. Also surviving are many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Funeral services were held at the Des Voignes funeral home and the Kidron Mennonite church or Sunday, October 5. Reuben Hofstetter, Isaac Zuercher and Allen Bixler were the officiating ministers. Burial was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
