Berne, Ind. — Noah Stauffer, 75-year-old farmer of this community, was killed instantly the morning of Oct. 8 when crushed in the grears [''sic''] of a cane press near here. He and another employee, David Wickey, had just begun operation of the press, used in the production of molasses, when the tragic accident took place.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Evangelical Mennonite church, of which he was a long-time member.

ELDERLY MAN CRUSHED IN GEARS OF CANE MILL NEAR BERNE, INDIANA

Berne, Ind. — Noah Stauffer, 75-year-old farmer of this community, was killed instantly the morning of Oct. 8 when crushed in the grears [sic] of a cane press near here. He and another employee, David Wickey, had just begun operation of the press, used in the production of molasses, when the tragic accident took place.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Evangelical Mennonite church, of which he was a long-time member.
