Grandfather, 86, Dies When Hit by Car

Marshallville, Ohio. — Jacob S. Stauffer, 86, met instant death near hear [sic] March 29 when he was struck by a car while crossing the highway to return home with the mail.

Formerly of Lancaster County, Pa., he had lived in this community for 29 years. At the time of death he was residing with a daughter, Mrs. Oscar Horrisberger.

The large family of survivors includes 11 children, 53 grandchildren, 129 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, as well as two brother.

Funeral services were conducted April 1 at the Salem Mennonite Church here.
