MILTON J. STAUFER

Milton J. Staufer, son of John and Lizzie Staufer, was born on March 24, 1906, on a farm homesteaded by his parents near Deer Creek, Okla. He passed away following surgery at the Blackwell General Hospital on Nov. 22, 1965 at the age of 59 years, seven months, and 28 days.

On Aug. 20, 1922, he was baptized upin [sic] his confession of faith and joined the Deer Creek Mennonite Church.

He made farming his occupation. He enjoyed the great out-of-doors where God speaks to us through the power and voices of nature.

His parents and two sisters, Marie and Freda [sic Frieda], preceded him in death.

Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Elmer Lichti and Miss Anna Staufer of Deer Creek; one aunt, Mrs. Katherine Kuehny of Deer Creek; four nieces and four nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Nov. 24 at 2:30 p.m. in the Deer Creek Mennonite Church, with Rev. Willard Stucky officiating. A men's quartet composed of Harold Kuehny, Wm. Latschar, Elton Krehbiel, and Carl Hohmann sang "Rock of Ages" and "In My Father's House Are Many Mansions," accompanied by Mrs. Wm. Latschar. Burial was in Bayard Cemetery near Deer Creek.
