Accident Claims Life Of Archbold Farmer
Archbold, Ohio. — A largely attended funeral took place at the Central Mennonite Church here March 18 when services were held for Franklin M. Stamm, 46-year-old farmer of rural Archbold who lost his life in a farm accident. Officiating ministers were Rev. Chas. Gautsche and Rev. Dale Wyse.
On Saturday evening Mr. Stamm and his three sons were grinding corn when the augur became clogged, causing a pipe to swing around and hit him. He fell to the cement floor ten feet below, striking a tractor fender as he fell.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Liberty, neighbors, were summoned and Mrs. Liechty, a registered nurse, revived Mr. Stamm by applying artificial respiration. He was taken to Detwiler Hospital where he died Sunday noon.
