Born near here May 12, 1896, he attended Freeman Junior College and also Dakota Wesleyan College at Mitchell. He farmed for many years on the farm which his fatherhad homesteaded. He was an active member of the Bethany congregation.

Surviving are his wife, Katie, two daughters, six sons, and 18 grandchildren.

Services Held at Freeman For Prominent Farmer

Freeman, S. D. — Funeral services for Mike J. Stahl, 66, prominent farmer here and a lifetime resident of this community, were conducted Jan. 4 at the Bethany Mennonite Church in Freeman.

Death came in Jan. 2 at the Freeman Community Hospital where Mr Stahl had been admitted after suffering a heart attack.

Born near here May 12, 1896, he attended Freeman Junior College and also Dakota Wesleyan College at Mitchell. He farmed for many years on the farm which his fatherhad homesteaded. He was an active member of the Bethany congregation.
