Head-On Collision Claims Two Lives
Metamora, Ill. — A head-on collision a short distance north of Metamora on Highway 89 on Oct. 13 resulted in instant death for Mrs. Ruby Springer, 48, wife of a Metamora community farmer and Marion Miller, 27, a policeman at Magnolia, Ill.
There were no witnesses to the crash, and the cause was not immediately determined. Both were traveling alone.
Mrs. Springer was the former Ruby Bachman of Tiskilwa, Ill. She was married to Raymond Springer in 1939. Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, two sons, one granddaughter, her father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bachman, one sister and four brothers.
Funeral services were conducted Oct. 15 at the Metamora Mennonite Church, of which she was a member.
