&bull; John C. O. Sperling, 87, formerly of Newton and a resident of the Prairie Sunset Home at Pretty Prairie for some years, died Aug. 24 at Bethel Deaconess Hospital here after a 10-day illness. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at the Pretty Prairie Mennonite Church, of which he was a member, with Rev. Peter Ediger in charge. Mrs. Sperling, the former Carrie Graber, died in 1966. Survivors include one son, Rev. Homer Sperling of Colby, four grandchildren, one brother and two sisters.

• John C. O. Sperling, 87, formerly of Newton and a resident of the Prairie Sunset Home at Pretty Prairie for some years, died Aug. 24 at Bethel Deaconess Hospital here after a 10-day illness.
