text of obituary:
HELENA SOMMERFELD
Helena Sommerfeld, daughter of Heinrich and Anna Schroeder Sommerfeld, was born June 3, 1884, in Marion County, Kansas. She departed this life on Oct. 3, 1963, at her home in Canton, Kan. after a lingering illness of several years, during which she suffered a number of heart attacks.
Trusting in the Lord as her Saviour, she was baptized upon the confession of her faith on May 22, 1904, and became a member of the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church. In 1920 she transferred her membership to the Goessel Mennonite Church, where she was a faithful member. She was greatly interested in God's Word and spent many hours reading the Bible. Her favorite Psalm was the 23rd Psalm. She was a very patient sufferer and endured without any complaint.
She leaves to mourn her departure her sisters and brother, Katherine and Agnes Sommerfeld of Canton, and Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Sommerfeld of Halstead, Kan.
