GEORGE E. SOMMER

George E. Sommer, 87, a retired farmer, died Monday, April 12, 1965, at his home in Meadows, Ill. He had been ill for over one year.

Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Meadows Mennonite Church with Rev. L. E. Troyer officiating. Burial was made in the Chenoa Cemetery.

Mr. Sommer was born Jan. 14, 1878, a son of Jacob and Magdalena Lahn Sommer, at Spring Bay, Ill.

He was married to Martha Zehr at Lexington, Ill. on June 18, 1913.

He is survived by his wife, Martha, of Meadows; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Streid Sr. of Gridley, and Mrs. Alpha Baughman of Normal; three nieces and four nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

He was a member of the Meadows Mennonite Church and had farmed for 35 years at Lexington. He retired in Meadows 15 years ago.
