• Funeral services for Loren Dale Smith, 19, who died Dec. 9 in a two-car collision near Silver City, N. M., were conducted last. Friday afternoon at the Grace Mennonite Church west of Halstead. Rev. Arnold Wiggers and Rev. Carl Dirks officiated. The young man was employed near Silver City as a heavy equipment operator. Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Smith of Silver City; five sisters, of whom two are still at home; two brothers of the home; and a grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Smith of Centralia, Kan. The Smith family formerly lived at Halstead, and moved to Silver City from Tucumcari, N. M. about four months ago.
