• Mrs. Carrie Koehn, 60, wife of Otto P. Koehn, died March 22 at Montezuma. The funeral was to be held Tuesday afternoon at the Mennonite church northwest of Montezuma. Survivors are her husband and seven children and their families. Kansas relatives received word that Benjamin Smith, 65, a native of Halstead, died March 21 at Atwater, Calif. The body was returned to Kansas, and the funeral was held Monday afternoon at the Meridian Church near Hesston. His widow, Dora, one sister and two brothers survive. Ike Smith of Newton is a brother.

WINTON, CALIFORNIA

Benj. Smith, a Winton resident for about 10 or 12 years, passed away quite suddenly in a rest home south of Atwater on the morning of March 21. He had been ill for about three year. There was a short funeral service for him in the funeral chapel near Atwater on Saturday morning, March 23, after which his body was sent to Hesston, Kan. for burial. Mrs. Herman Dirks accompanied his remains to Kansas. he was 65 years of age.

Solomon Voth, a 31-year resident of the Winton community, passed away on March 21, the evening of the same day Mr. Smith died. He died during surgery in a Willows hospital. He was 78, and his funeral was conducted in the Winton Church on Wednesday morning, March 27. His wife passed away a year ago last November. Two daughters and one son survive.
