Funeral services were held Dec. 22 for Mrs. Mary Smeltzer, 79, of rural Wakarusa. Russell Krabill and Simon Gingerich officiated in the Holdeman Mennonite Church. She died in the Elkhart General Hospital after suffering a stroke in her home. She was married in 1928 to Clarence Smeltzer. He died in 1966. She leaves two daughters, Ruth (Mrs. Dwight) Newcomer and Melba (Mrs. Frank) Williams of Wakarusa; four sons, Dale of Howell, Mich., Glen and Clifford of Wakarusa and David of Elkhart; a brother. D. A. Yoder of Goshen; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. — B. Stichter.
