Boy, 14, Fatally Hurt While Riding Bicycle
Sugarcreek, Ohio. — Injuries suffered several days earlier in a fall from his bicycle proved fatal Sept. 5 to Ivan J. Slabach, 14, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob E. Slabach of rural Millersburg.
The boy reportedly was riding his bicycle on a county road Aug. 31 when he fell and struck a concrete bridge abutment. He died in Aultman Hospital, Canton.
The lad was a student in the East Holmes School District. Besides his parents he leaves a sister and two brothers of the home and three grandparents. The funeral was on Sept. 8 at the Bethany Conservative Mennonite Church.
