PETER SIEMENS

Peter Siemens of Clearbrook, B.C. passed away Mar. 6. He was born Dec. 18, 1911 to Henry and Aganetha Siemens in Freudensruh, Russia. In 1924 the family immigrated to Rosthern, Sask. In 1925 they moved to Janzen, Sask ., where he accepted the Lord and was baptized. The family moved to B.C. A few years later he returned to Janzen to help on his brother Jake's farm. Here he met Mary; they married Nov. 3, 1940. They farmed with his father until 1945, when they moved to a farm in Yarrow, B.C. He also worked at several jobs off the farm. In fall, 1955 they moved to a dairy farm in Aldergrove, B.C. They moved to a grain farm in LaGlace, Alta. 7 years later. Due to poor health, they returned to the Fraser Valley in B.C. They had a dairy farm in Sumas Prairie, B.C. for 2 years, then raised chickens and raspberries in Abbotsford, B.C. He had his first heart attack, and 6 years later he retired. For a short time they helped his son establish a farm in Alberta, then returned to Clearbrook. His one desire was to live for God and serve him any way he could. He is mourned by his wife; sons Bernie, Ernie and Vic; daughters Leona Woelk and Lois Veer; 19 grandchildren and 1 sister. The funeral was Mar. 9 in South Abbotsford MB Church, with David Epp ministering.
