HENRY SIEMENS

Henry Siemens of Winnipeg passed away Mar. 1. He was born Feb. 19, 1923 to Henry and Katherina Siemens in Steinfeld, Ukraine. In 1929 the family immigrated to Boissevain, Man. He became a Christian at 11. He was later baptized and joined Boissevain MB Church. In 1944 he moved to Vineland, Ont. He married Katie Wall in 1948. In 1957 they moved to St. Catharines, where he worked in the construction business until retiring in 1988. They were members of Vineland, Scott St. and Fairview MB Churches. In 1990 they moved to Winnipeg. He is remembered as a loving, devoted husband and father, seeking always to do what was best for the family. In his quiet way he tried to lead his family to live their lives for God and encouraged them to give of their time, energy and resources. He was always involved in the local church and its missions work. He is survived by his wife; children Dennis of Prince Albert, Sask., Edwin of Altona, Man. and Lorraine Penner of Elm Creek, Man.; 9 grandchildren; 3 brothers and 3 sisters. The funeral was Mar. 6 in Elmwood MB Church, Winnipeg, with Isaac Block and Abe Klassen ministering.
