• Funeral services for Peter H. Siemens, 74, retired farmer of the Burrton community, were held May 5 at the Burrton Methodist Church with Rev. James Gingerich of Burrton and Rev. Harold Thieszen of Buhler officiating. Mr. Siemens died May 3 at the Halstead Hospital, having been ill with cancer. He was a member of the Burrton Mennonite Church. Surviving are his widow, Katherine, three sons, four daughters, 19 grandchildren, four brother and two sisters. Mr. Siemens was the father of Mrs. Walter Brandt and Mrs. Jack Lowe of Newton and a brother of J. J. Siemens, North Newton.

PETER H. SIEMENS
Peter H. Siemens was born May 13, 1892 to John F. and Sara Siemens of Buhler, Kan., and died May 3, 1967 at Halstead, Kan., age 74 years, 11 months, 20 days.
He was baptized on May 31, 1914 by Rev. Abraham Ratzlaff and received into the Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church, Inman. On June 9, 1946 he transferred his membership to the Burrton Mennonite Church, Burrton, Kan., of which he was an active member until the time of his death.
On Nov. 22, 1914, he was united in marriage to Katherine Warkentine. To this union were born three sons and four daughters. They are Mrs. Anna Marie Ratzlaff of Silaom [sic Siloam] Springs, Ark., Mrs. Albert Becker of Buhler, Mrs. Walter Brandt Jr. of Newton, John of Liberal, Mrs. Jack Lowe of Newton, Robert of Halstead, and James of Burrton.
In addition to his wife and seven children, he leaves to mourn 19 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Froese of Buhler and Mrs. Lydia Ewert of Hillsboro; four brothers, Jake of Newton, Dave of Hesston, and Art and Curt of Buhler.
His life's occupation was farming. He farmed in several communities, among them Turpin, Okla.; Dahlart [sic Dalhart], Texas; Buhler, Walton and Burrton, Kan. About five years ago he retired and moved to Burrton.
Until one and a half years ago he was active as a deacon of the Burrton Mennonite Church. During recent years he has given time to the church in various service projects, most recently in January 1967 when he spent a week working on a building project at the General Conference Indian Mission in Oraibi, Ariz.
