John Siemens
John Siemens of Saskatoon passed away Jan. 21. He was born May 16, 1907 to John P. and Katherina Siemens at Davlekanovo, Ufa. Three months later the family moved to Orloff, Zagradovka, Ukraine. He accepted Christ at 18 and was baptized in 1926. In fall 1926 he immigrated to Canada with his mother and 2 brothers. He never ceased to give thanks t.o God for this country. He married Annie Wall in Borden (Sask.) MB Church in 1929. They farmed at Elbow, Sask. until 1931 and at Borden until 1962. They moved to Saskatoon, where he worked for Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce for 10 years until retirement and then for Saskatchewan Mutual Insurance Co. for 3 years. He enjoyed the Christian Business Men's Association. Living for the Lord and giving to the Lord's work were priorities. Family was loved. His many friends were a source of encouragement during his illness. Predeceased by son Albert in 1941, 1 great-grandson, 2 sisters and 3 brothers, he is mourned by his wife; daughters Betty Willems and Doreen Schroeder of Winnipeg, Edna Goertzen of Dalmeny, Sask. and Lois Gustafson of Melfort, Sask.; sons Jack of Delta, B.C. and Gary of Missoula, MT; 24 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 sister and 1 brother. The funeral was Jan. 26 in Forest Grove Community Church, Saskatoon, with Robert Radtke and Rueben Baerg ministering.
