Elizabeth Siemens

Elizabeth Siemens of Coaldale, Alta. passed away Jan. 18. She was born Nov. 1, 1906 to Peter and Susanna Kliewer in southern Russia. She accepted Christ in her teen years and was baptized into the MB church. She immigrated to Canada in 1930, settling in the Coaldale area. She married John Dietrich Siemens Mar. 23, 1935. They farmed in the Coaldale area until 1972, when they retired to Coaldale. She was an active member of Coaldale MB Church, serving people with much love. She is remembered for her warmth and friendly smile. Predeceased by her husband on Feb. 24, 1983, son Abe and daughter Ann Reimer, she is survived by sons Henry of Coaldale, Vernon of Thorsby, Alta., Walter of Leduc, Alta. and John of Taber, Alta.; daughters Sue Kopp of Leduc and Kay Doerksen of Coaldale; 24 grandchildren and 2 sisters. The funeral was Jan. 22 in Coaldale MB Church, with Rudy Heidebrecht ministering.
