Well-Known Minister, Evangelist Dies

Archbold, Ohio. — Funeral services for Rev. Jesse J. Short, 67, widely known minister and evangelist of the Central Mennonite Church here, was conducted at the church on May 22. Officiating ministers were A. J. Metzler of Scottdale, Pa., Charles Gautsche and Dale Wyse.

Rev. Short died Sunday, May 20, at Detwiler Hospital in Wauseon where he had been a patient since suffering a severe heart attack 11 days earlier.

A native of this community, he was ordained to the ministry in the Central Church in 1936. During his ministry he traveled widely in the United States and Canada in evangelistic work, and also served a term as Pax pastor in Germany in the early 1950's.
