text of obituary:

MRS. ALCINTHIA [sic ALCYNTHIA] SHENK

Mrs. Alcinthia [sic Alcynthia] Hilty Shenk was born at Caladonia [sic Caledonia], Mich. May 17, 1871, to Bishop and Mrs. David Hilty, and departed this life at the home of her daughter at Filer, Ida. May 23, 1954, aged 83 years, six days.

She was married to Amos M. Shenk in Ohio in 1898 and they moved to Nampa, Idaho in 1903. They lived at Nampa until 1933, when they moved to Hammett, Idaho. Her husband, Min. Amos Shenk, passed away June 11, 1944.

She leaves to mourn her passing five sons, David, Tim and Amos Shenk of Hammett, Mark Shenk of Homedale, Sam Shenk of Eureka, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Carrico of Baker, Ore., Mrs. Esther Schiffler of Filer, Ida., Fan Shenk of Hammett; two brothers, John Hilty of Roseville, Calif., Geo. Hilty of Hammett; one sister, Mrs. Angeline Mishler of Fontana, Calif., and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Martha Hilty of Nampa. She also leaves 26 grandchildren besides a host of friends. A brother, L. F. Hilty, a sister, Mrs. Tena Burkhart, and a son. Paul, preceded her in death.

She was a member of the (Old) Mennonite church, and was always at church services when health permitted.

To know her was to love her. She was kind, friendly, had a ready smile, and was the soul of hospitality. One feels life has been made richer for having known her.

Funeral services were held at Bey Chapel, Glens [sic Glenns] Ferry, Ida., Min. Paul Miller in charge. She was laid to rest beside her husband at Glen [sic Glenn] Rest cemetery, May 27, 1954.
