text of obituary:
GEORGE BERNARD SHAW DIES AT AGE OF 94
George Bernard Shaw, the century's most famous playwright and literary critic, died at his home at St. Lawrence, England Nov. 2 at the age of 94.
Shaw was internationally famous for his cryptic philosophy about world events and as well as the common affairs of life. He had only recently fractured his hip in a fall but had completely recovered.
It was expected that Shaw would leave much of his great fortune toward furthering his plans for a new alphabet of between 40 and 44 letters. The proposed alphabet would have one letter for each sound in the language.
