Mrs. Louis Schweer

Donnellson, Ia., July 21. — Emma Leisy Schweer, daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Schowalter Leisy, was born February 20, 1864, at Keokuk, Iowa. She spent her entire life in lee county and the greatest portion of it in the vicinity of Donnellson.

At an early age she was baptized and confirmed in the Mennonite church and remained in the fellowship of that church until the time of her marriage to Louis Schweer when she united with the Evangelical church at Primrose. She was for many years a member of the church choir and a member of the ladies' aid society, and as long as she was able, was a faithful church attendant.

She was united in marriage to Louis H. Schweer on January 1, 1885. To this union were born eight children, three of whom preceded their mother in death. She is survived by her husband; five children: Miss Emma, of Marshalltown, Ed., Erich, and Walter at home and Paul, of Donnellson; five sisters, Mrs. C. Schweer, of Spokane Bridge, Wash.; Mrs. S. S. Krebill, of Donnellson, Mrs. P. R. Krebill of Fort Madison, Miss Hulda Leisy and Mrs. Bertha Rest, of Marshalltown; and one brother, A. C. Leisy of Salem, Ore.

Although Mrs. Schweer had been in failing health for some time her last serious illness came on June 20th, since which time she has been bedfast. She died Wednesday, July 13, 1932, at the age of 68 years.

Funeral services were held at the Evangelical church in Primrose on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. — Donnellson Review.
