JONATHAN J. SCHWARTZ
</centerJonathan J. Schwartz was born on July 9, 1883, near Freeman, S. D., the son of Jacob C. and Mary Schwartz. He died Nov. 21, 1974, at the Glendive, Mont. Community Hospital after a brief illness. He reached the age of 91.
He was baptized on Sept. 15, 1901 by Rev. Joseph Kaufman and received into the Salem Mennonite Church near Freeman.
On June 26, 1907, he married Frances Graber. After living in the Freeman area for approximately five years, they moved to Montana, homesteading in the Bloomfield area where he was engaged in farming until his retirement. In 1948 they moved to Glendive, where he lived until his death.
