MRS. FRANCES SCHWARTZ
Frances Graber Schwartz was born to Kathryn and Peter C. Graber on Aug. 5, 1884 at Pretty Prairie, Kan.
On Aug. 26, 1900, she was baptized by Rev. Christian Kaufman and became a member of the Salem-Zion Mennonite Church near Freeman, S.D.
She was married to Jonathan Schwartz on June 16, 1907, at Freeman by Rev. Joseph Kaufman. The couple shared 64 years of married life. To this union were born four children, three sons and one daughter.
In the spring of 1912 they homesteaded near Bloomfield, Mont. They remained there on the farm until the fall of 1948, when they moved to Glendive, Mont., residing there until the time of her death on June 10, 1971.
She was preceded in death by one son, Delbert Max, in infancy, and one sister, Mrs. Hulda Pankratz.
She is survived by her husband, three children, Alfred Schwartz of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Alfred (Leone) Senner of Bloomfield, Mont., and Melvin Schwartz of Richey, Mont.; six grandchildren, one brother, Herbert Graber of Lodi, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. Will Senner, Mrs. Adina Waltner, and Mrs. Leo Ellwein, all of Freeman, Mrs. Frank Schultz of Lodi, and Mrs. Herman Hunter of Chamberlain.
She enjoyed good health until about seven years ago when she began failing, although she was never bedridden.
She looked forward to the time when she could go home to be with her Lord and on numerous occasions expressed this desire to her family and friends. At the time of her death, she was a member of the First Mennonite Church of Glendive, Mont.
Funeral services were held at the First Mennonite Church of Glendive at 2:00 p.m. on June 14, with Rev. A. C. Siebert officiating. Burial was at the Bethlehem Mennonite Cemetery, Bloomfield.
