WILBERT SCHUMACHER

Wilbert Schumacher, a farmer, died at 9:40 p.m., March 23, 1950, at Gallipolis, Ohio. He was born in Allen county, Ohio April 6, 1892, a son of David and Marian (Geiger) Schumacher.

He married Hulda Suter in 1914 and she survives with five children, Mrs. Jeannette Lehman and Mrs. Esther Anderson of Pandora; Mrs. Vivian Gesler of Lima; Ray W. of Bluffton; and Mrs. Ruth Schaublin of Ottawa. A son Mark preceded him in death.

Also surviving are a brother Amos of Pandora; sisters, Mrs. Noah Gerber, Mrs. David Luginbill and Mrs. Fanny Schumacher of Pandora, and Mrs. Gideon Niswander of Ottawa, Ohio.

He was a member of the Grace Mennonite church, Pandora, where services were held at 2:30 p. m., Sunday, March 26, with the pastor, Rev. E. J. Bohn officiating.

Mr. Schumacher was a lifelong member of the Grace church where he took active part in choir, Sunday school, and other organizations. He was an ardent lover of music. When able he never failed to sing in the annual rendition of the "Messiah” by the church choir and also sang in Bluffton college’s annual rendition of the "'Messiah.”

In his last years, while under the doctor's care at the hospital he kept in close touch with his family. Even on the day of his death he wrote a loving letter to his daughter mentioning about the love of Christ and the good deeds about working for Him as well as with him. In closing his fatherly thought he wrote “Oh may I join the choir invisible of those immortal dead who live again, in lives made better by their presence.”
