DAVID SCHULTZ

David Schultz, son of Jacob and Anna Schultz, was born on Dec. 9, 1892 near Canton, Kan. Here he spent his childhood days and attended the rural school.

On June 15, 1919, he was united to Helen Buhler in holy matrimony at Hillsboro, Kan. This union lasted 44 years, eight months and 16 days. God brought added joy to our union by giving us the privilege of adopting two sons, Wilmer and Allen.

Shortly after our marriage he recognized his lost condition during a revival campaign. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized upon his confession of faith by the late P. E. Nickel, uniting with the Mennonite Brethren Church.

By profession he was a painter. He always enjoyed comparatively good health until about one year ago. At that time he had an operation and soon after this discovered that he had cancer. After spending some months at home he was again called back to the Veteran's Hospital in Fresno, Calif., not realizing that he was not to return.

During the days in the hospital he spoke of a new commitment in which he had abandoned himself to the Lord and was trusting Him for his eternal salvation. Sunday morning, March 1, 1964, about 3 a.m., the Lord called him home to glory. He reached the age of 71 years, two months and 22 days.

He leaves to mourn the following: His widow, Mrs. Helen Schultz of Reedley, Calif.; two sons, Wilmer of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Allen of San Jose; two daughters-in-law; five grandchildren; three brothers, Jacob of Newton, Kan., John of Buhler, Henry of Hillsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Braun, Enid, Okla., and Mrs. Susie Reimer, Johnstown, Colo., and many relatives and friends.

The memorial service was held in the Mennonite Brethren Church, Reedley, Calif., with Rev. Dan Friesen officiating. — The Family.
