JOHN P. SCHULTZ
John P. Schultz was born to Rev. and Mrs. Peter Schultz on Nov. 15, 1883 near Mt. lake, Minn.
At the age of 19 he emigrated with his parents to Langham, Sask., where they homesteaded.
In 1903 Rev. Aaron Wall and Rev. Henry Fast conducted evangelistic meetings in a large machine shed on the Frank Fleming farm. At that time he realized his lost condition and need of a Saviour. He was baptized and joined the E.M.B. Church the same year.
On Feb. 21, 1906, he married Margeratha Mantler. To this union six children were born, of which two preceded him in death, Henry in infancy and Menno at the age of nearly three years.
In was always a joy for him to help in the church program. For several years he served as usher and Sunday School teacher and for 25 years was treasurer of the Sunday School. Other areas of service included: School board member, chairman of the telephone company, and 30 years of service in the Mennonite Union Waisenamt.
In 1946 he and his wife moved to the village of Dalmeny. It was their privilege to celebrate their golden anniversary in 1956 and the diamond anniversary in 1966.
In 1961 he suffered nearly total loss of vision.
On Feb. 22, 1967 our beloved husband and father died in a Saskatoon hospital at 83 years of age.
