HENRY A. SCHULTZ

Henry A. Schultz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Schultz, was born March 3, 1876, at Loretta, S. D. He was brought up in the Mennonite faith and upon his confession of faith in Christ was baptized at the age of 16 years and received into the church.

On Sept. 16, 1896, he was united in marriage to Helena Unruh of Loretta, S. D. The young couple settled on a farm at Avon, S. D. To this union seven children were born.

In 1916 with his family, he moved to Montana, residing on a farm southeast of Lambert, where he spent the remainder of his life.

He has been in ill health for some time, and on February 28 he was taken to the Sidney hospital. On Saturday morning, March 21, at 12:45 a.m. he fell asleep in Jesus at the age of 77 years and 18 days.

Surviving are his wife, Helena Schultz; six children, Rev. Albert Schultz, pastor of First Baptist church and dean of Bethel Bible School, Decatur, Ill., Nina, Mrs. Kahn of San Francisco, Calif., Howard, living at home, Alice, Mrs. Wm. Plummer of Missoula, Mont., Pearl, Mrs. Wallace Doe, and Grace, Mrs. Tim O’Leary of Billings, Mont.; two sisters, Mrs. John Boese of Golden, Colo., and Mrs. Lizzie Ewert of Marion, S. D.; six half brothers and two half sisters; sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

One child and one grandchild preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, March 24, at 2 p.m. at the Lambert Alliance church, with Pastor Leo Berreth and Rev. O. M. Hoff officiating. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Deckert sang “Does Jesus Care.” Mrs. O. M. Hoff sang “Face to Face,” and Wayne Roberts and David Thiessen sang “The Lights of Home.” Pianist was Mrs. Leo Berreth.

Interment was in the Lambert cemetery.

Pall bearers were: Erick Pust, Arthur Pribnow, John Bolstad, D. H. Thiessen, H. D. Thiessen, and C. R. Thiessen.
