FRED SCHULTZ

Fred Schultz was born to Cornelius and Elisabeth Buller Schultz on Feb. 8, 1888 at Moundridge, Kansas. They lived at various places in Kansas and finally moved to Coy, Okla.

In 1920 he came to Ringwood, Okla. and on June 20 was married to Mrs. Helena Johnson, with whom he shared joy and sorrow until he passed away on Feb. 27, 1948. To them was born one son John, who now lives with his wife Mildred and three children at Turpin, Okla. They now survive him.

When he came to Oklahoma he joined the New Hopedale Mennonite Church where he made himself useful as S. S. teacher and in other ways. In 1948 he came to Enid, Okla. and joined the Bethel Mennonite Church and likewise helped in the welfare of the church.

Several years ago his health began to fail and since he was not able to take care of himself, he made his home with his step-daughter Dena. She tenderly cared for him as his health condition became more serious. In all his suffering he trusted the Lord and was ready to go whenever the Lord was ready to call him.

Besides his own children he is survived by nine step-children: Henry and wife Mary and Edward and wife Malinda and four children of Ringwood, Okla., Bertha (Mrs. Bertraw) and four children of Pueblo, Colo., Dena of the home, Lydia (Mrs. Marion Dirks) and three children of Greensburg, Kansas, Almeda (Mrs. Alpha Unruh) and two children of Lahoma, Okla., Sadie (Mrs. Alfred H. Jantz) of Meno, Okla., Margaretha (Mrs. Waldo Becker) and five children of Broken Bow, Okla., and Louis and wife Esther and two children of Medford, Okla. Also a number of grandchildren survive him.

Besides the above he is also survived by his stepmother, Mrs. Anna Schultz of Galva, Kansas; eight half-brothers, Harry and Albert of Protection, Kansa, Peter of Neodasha [sic Neodesha], Kansas, John of Ames, Okla., Ed of Portland, Oregon, Ben and Jake of Lookout, Okla., and Elmer of Douglas, Kansas; seven half-sisters, Susie (Mrs. Leo Unruh) of Galva, Kansas, Lena (Mrs. C. P. Zielke) of Reedley, Calif., Lizzie (Mrs. Rudolf Ewy) of Weatherford, Okla. Mabel (Mrs. Schenk) of Coldwater, Kansas, Marie (Mrs. Louis Jantz) of Marshall, Okla., Nina (Mrs. Neil Young) of Coldwater, Kansas, and Lucinda (Mrs. Elmer Wedel) of Moundridge, Kansas, and many other friends and relatives.
