DAVID H. A. SCHULTZ
David H. A. Schultz, son of Henry and Anna Foth Schultz, was born on May 15, 1876 at Avon, S. D. He went to be with his Lord on April 7, 1964, reaching the age of 87 years, 10 months, and 24 days.
He spent his boyhood days in the Loretta Community in South Dakota. He was only four years old when his father passed away. When he became of school age he went to live with uncle, Tobias Schultz, and went to school with his cousins. At the age of 16 he went to Mt. Lake, Minn. to attend German Bible school.
At the age of 17 he accepted Christ as his personal Savior, was baptized and joined the E. M. B. Church of Mt. Lake. While living in Montana he joined th Bethlehem Mennonite Church, and after moving to Oklahoma he was a faithful member of the Grace Mennonite Church, Enid, until his death.
On Oct. 23, 1898 he was united in marriage to Margaret Reimer, who preceded him in death. They homesteaded on a farm near Beach, N. D., in 1902, later moving to a farm near Richey, Mont.
On Sept. 28, 1924 he was united in marriage to Lena Schmidt. They resided on the farm at Richey until his retirement in 1955 when they moved to Enid, Okla.
Father enjoyed good health until he suffered a stroke Aug. 13, 1963, which left him bedfast the last eight months. He spent the last three weeks in the hospital. He was the last member of a family of eight children to go to his heavenly home, his life also being the longest. He felt left alone when his brother Henry was taken to be with the Lord only three months ago.
Mourning his departure are his wife Lena; five sons, John of Sidney, Mont., David of Atascadero, Calif., Jacob of Sidney, Melvin of Enid, Okla. and Paul of Richey, Mont.; four daughters, Mrs. Everett (Lena) Pearce of Downey, Calif., Mrs. Bob (Eva) Pryor of Beaumont, Calif., Miss Edna Schultz of Henderson, Neb. and Mrs. John (Ruth) Wrich of Fremont, Neb.; 37 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
In addition to those already mentioned, he was preceded in death by two sons, Abe and Aaron, two daughters, Anna and Elizabeth, one son-in-law, David Thiessen, one grandson, two sisters and five brothers.
