David A. Schultz was born in Heinrichdorf, Russia, August 17, 1873 and passed away after much suffering on Saturday morning, Aug. 3, 1946. He reached the age of 72 years, 11 months, 26 days.

He came to America with his parents in 1874 and lived at Avon until 1941. He accepted the Lord in his early youth and was baptized upon his confession of faith in the Lord July 13, 1893. He was married Feb. 9, 1894 to Eva Ewert, who preceded him in death June 17, 1940. Five children were born to this union.

He was ordained as minister of the Friedensberg church May 31, 1903, and ordained as elder in Sept. 1913, and served this church faithfully for 38 years. After his wife's death in 1941 he resigned as minister and went to live with his children.

He was always active in the Lord's work as long as his health permitted. While in Saginaw, Michigan, he was, elected as an overseer of the church board there and was a member of the advisory committee of the Wenona [sic Winona] Bible Conference.

He was faithful to the Lord until death. During his severe illness he sang the Lord's songs and spent much time in prayer. He was much concerned about his loved ones that some day they might all meet him in glory. He passed away with a prayer on his lips.

He leaves to mourn his death three daughters and two sons: Anna, Mrs. P. M. Boese of Saginaw, Michigan; Frank of Lodi, California; Margaret, Mrs. Allan Boese, and Paul of Saginaw, Michigan; Marie, Mrs. J. E. Voth of Brewster, Minnesota.
