text of obituary:
MRS. JOHN L. SCHULTZ
Barbara Schultz (nee Zehr) beloved companion of John L. Schultz and a dear mother and grandmother, passed away quietly at the Stratford, Ontario General hospital July 20 at the age of 74 years, 10 months and seven days.
A daughter of the late Christian and Catherine Bender Zehr, she was born in South Easthope Sept. 13, 1879.
She accepted Christ as Saviour in her early youth and remained faithful unto the end. She was an active member of the Poole A.M. church, serving as president of the Sewing Circle for 10 years, also taking her responsibility ably in teaching a Sunday school class for many years.
On Sept. 26, 1901, she was united in holy matrimony to John L. Schultz. They lived together 52 years, 10 months and 24 days. This union was blessed with two sons.
She leaves to mourn her departure her husband; two sons, Elmer of North Easthope, and Allan, on the homestead; three brothers, Peter of Baden, Christian of Tavistock and Andrew of South Easthope; one sister, Mrs. John Weicker of North Easthope.
One brother preceded her in death. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
She was endeared to all who knew her. Her thoughtfulness and kindness shall long be cherished by her many friends. She was an ardent lover, of flowers and enjoyed the marvellous [sic] handiwork of God. Her quiet witness of the love of God was an enrichment to many.
The services were largely attended. Ministers in charge were Bro. Valentine Nafziger, Peter Nafziger and Moses H. Roth.
