ANNA SCHULTZ

Anna Schultz (nee Goossen) was born Nov. 5, 1885, in Turner County, Marion Junction, S. D. There she lived until 1899 when her parents, Rev. and Mrs. Heinrich A. Goossen settled on a homestead about 16 miles west of Rosthern, Sask. In 1905 she was saved and found peace in the blood of Jesus Christ, and was baptized on her confession of faith. She became a member of the Salem K. M. B. Church, of which she was a member at her death.

On Oct. 14, 1906 she was united in marriage to Henry A. Schultz. This union was blessed with four sons and four daughters. One son died in infancy. three daughters and one son and families live in the St. Catharines, Ont. area, and two sons and one daughter live in Saskatchewan.

In 1924 she suffered a leg injury which caused her to lose the use of the limb. In June 1954 she suffered a stroke on the right side, which left her an invalid. She improved much and was able to be put into a wheel chair. In 1958 she suffered food and leg injuries which failed to heal. In 1959 both her legs were amputated. She returned home June 10, 1959 healed and well. She enjoyed life even though totally helpless. In May, 1960 she became seriously ill again and was hospitalized. She returned home again and felt well until three weeks before her passing. On Nov. 4 she returned to the hospital and passed away quietly with a smile on her face on Nov. 7 at 4:05 a. m., into the place of rest where there will be no more suffering.

She was 75 years and two days old, having been married over 54 years. She leaves behind her husband, four daughters and their husbands, three sons and their wives, 29 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and four sisters.

Funeral services were held on Nov. 10 at 2 p. m. in the M. B. church in St. Catharines, Ont. Bro. A. H. Redekopp spoke on Heb. 4:9-11, followed by Rev. Henry Fransen with an English sermon on II Tim. 4:6-8. Burial was in the Pleasant View Memorial Garden cemetery. — The Bereaved family.
