PETER D. SCHROEDER

Peter David Schroeder was born Sept. 2, 1897, near Buhler, Kan. to David D. and Margaret Dueck Schroeder, the youngest of 12 children. He entered into eternal rest on May 30, 1962, at 4:05 p.m. at St. Elizabeth hospital in Hutchinson, at the age of 64 years, eight months, an 28 days.

He received his schooling at the Union School Dist. in the northeast part of Reno county. Upon his confession of faith he was baptized on June 8, 1919, by Elder Abr. Ratzlaff and became a member of the Hoffnungsau church, later transferring his membership to the Buhler Mennonite church, of which he was a member at the time of his death. On Oct. 23, 1921, he was married to Katherine Kim, with whom he shared life's joys and sorrows for nearly 41 years.

They lived on farms in the Buhler community until the fall of 1959, when, because of ill health, they retired to their present home in Buhler.

In addition to his wife, Katherine he is survived by one son, Irvin D. and his wife Mildred of Hutchinson; one daughter, Mrs. Pearl Bartel and husband Floyd of Topeka; three brothers, John, Abraham D. and Jacob B. Schroeder; and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Martens and Miss Mary Schroeder, all of Buhler. Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, David and Henry, and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Wall.
