Mrs. Isaac Schroeder was born to Deacon and Mrs. John Schellenberg on Nov. 26, 1884 in Nikopohl, South Russia. As a teenager she realized her lost condition and accepted Christ as her personal Saviour. On Aug. 12, 1905, she was baptized and accepted into the M. B. Church.

During her youth in Ignakawoka she met her beloved husband, Isaac Schroeder. They were married on Sept. 30, 1903, and sailed for Canada three weeks after their wedding, arriving in Winkler, Manitoba. In less than two years mother and dad and their firstborn son came to Main Centre , Sask. and took up a homestead. Here the Lord blessed, physically and spiritually. The Lord blessed this union with nine sons and seven daughters. Her husband, two sons and one daughter preceded her in death.

She was the last of the Schroeders and also the last of the Schellenbergs. Dad and mother retired and moved to Herbert, Sask. in 1941. In December 1959 they joined the greater part of the family at Swift Current, Sask. On March 2, 1960 Dad was called Home.

During the last six years the daughters have faithfully taken care of mother under the supervision of Emma Schroeder, G.N., who has been carrying the load for the last 15 years. Mother went to meet her Maker on Dec. 5, 1966.

She leaves to mourn seven sons, John Schroeder, Chilliwack, B. C., Pete Schroeder, Pamburn, Sask., Rev. Henry Schroeder, Maine Center, Abe Schroeder, Shilo, Man., Rev. Arthur Schroeder, Ronan, Mont., Victor Schroeder, Swift Current, Sask.; six daughters, Mary Penner, Reedley Calif., Miss Emma Schroeder, G.N., Swift Current, Sask., Hulda Brown (missionary to Africa), Swift Current, Sask., Laura Peters, Regina, Sask., Luella Epp, and Lenora Glesbrecht, missionary at Montreal Lake. &#8212; The Family.

GERTRUDE SCHROEDER

Mrs. Gertrude Schroeder nee Schellenberg, passed away on December 5, at her home in Swift Current at the age of 82. She was born into a Christian home in Nikapol, Russia on November 26, 1884. She accepted Christ as her personal Saviour at an early age and was baptized and accepted into the Mennonite Brethren church.

In 1903 she was married to Mr. Isaac Schroeder and emigrated to Canada with him, three weeks later. After a few years in Manitoba, they came to Saskatchewan and homesteaded in the Main Centre area. In 1940 they retired from farming and moved to Herbert. Seven sons and six daughters mourn the loss of a mother who had ministered faithfully to their needs, physically and spiritually. She was predeceased by her husband in 1959, her son William in 1947, and daughter Elizabeth in 1951.

Left to mourn are her sons, John of Chilliwack, B.C., Rev. Arthur of Ronan, Montana, Peter E. of Pambrun, Sask..
