WALTER SCHRODER

Walter Schroeder, the youngest son of Henry and Helena (Richert) Schroeder, was born Sept. 20, 1899, in McPherson County, Kan. He received his public school training in the North Blumenfield school.

Walter was baptized upon confession of faith May 23, 1920, by Rev. P. H. Unruh and became a member of the Alexanderwohl church. After the death of his parents he made his home in Goessel, Kan. He was a farm laborer and paper hanger's assistant by occupation.

When his health failed the doctors ordered that he should not live alone and so he was accepted into the Bethesda Old People's Home, where he received care until he suddenly and unexpectedly departed this life.

He was a seeking soul and our faith and prayer is that all is well with his soul. In his scrapbook many notations are made that he was a seeking sinner and that the Blood of Christ was also shed for him. He faithfully read his Bible and made many notations of passages which were dear to him. We believe that he is safe in the arms of Jesus. He reached the age of 58 years, three months and 11 days, passing away Dec. 31, 1957.

He leaves to mourn his sudden death: one sister, Mrs. C. F. Unruh; three brothers, August of Hillsboro, Ferd and Rein of Canton, Kan.; six nieces and six nephews, three sisters-in-law, and other close relatives and friends. His parents, two brothers, one sister and one niece preceded him in death.

Funeral services were conducted in the Bethesda Home and in the Alexanderwohl church on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 4, 1958, by his pastor Rev. P. A. Wedel.
