MRS. C. D. SCHROEDER
Mrs. Susanna Schroeder, daughter of David and Henrietta Penner Karber, was born Dec. 1, 1888 at Marion, Kan. With her parents she moved to Fairview, Okla. when she was five years old.
In January 1902, she confessed her faith in Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour and Lord, and on March 31, 1902 was baptized by Rev. M. M. Just and received into the fellowship of the Fairview Mennonite Brethren Church.
She was united in marriage to Cornelius D. Schroeder on Aug. 3, 1910. After living in the Hillsboro community one year, and the Fairview community four years, they moved to Hooker, Okla. in August of 1915 where they resided the remainder of their lives. This marriage was blessed with six children. Her husband preceded her in death in 1944.
Upon moving to this community she became an active member of the Adams Mennonite Brethren Church where she was a member at the time of her death. She maintained a steadfast devotion to God and desired that His will be realized in her life.
She passed away after an illness of a few months on Sept. 8, 1966 at the age of 77 years, nine months and seven days.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are: Four daughters, Mrs. Anna Wohlgemuth, Hooker, Mrs. Eva Pauls, Inman, Kan., Mrs. Esther Buller, Henderson, Neb., and Mrs. Louise Pauls, Buhler, Kan.; two sons, David K. and William K. Schroeder, Adams, Okla.; five sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Kliewer, Mrs. Mary Martens, Mrs. Henrietta Cornelsen and Mrs. Eva Wichert, all of Fairview, Okla., and Mrs. Tena Unruh, Blaine, Wash.; one brother, Ben Karber, Dinuba, Calif.; 15 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
