• Word was received here that John H. Schroeder, 69, formerly of Halstead, died on Dec. 30 at Lynwood, Calif. Funeral services were conducted there on Jan. 3. Surviving are his widow, Velma; a son, Maurice; three sisters, Mrs. Dave Krehbiel and Mrs. Erhard Krehbiel, both of Deer Cr eek, Okla., and Mrs. John Buller of Newton; and three brothers, Karl and Paul of Halstead and Herman of Lyndonville, N. Y.

JOHN H. SCHROEDER

Services were held at 11 a.m. Jan 3, 1972 at the Pierce Brothers South Gate Mortuary, Lynwood, Calif. , for John H. Schroeder, 3635 Fernwood Ave., Lynwood. He passed away following surgery in the St. Frances ''sic'' St. Francis Hospital in Lynwood on Dec. 30, 1971.

He was born June 5, 1902 in Halstead, Kan. and was a member of the Mennonite Church there. He moved to California in 1933. For the last 20 years he had resided in Lynwood. He was the owner of a machine shop in Paramount, Calif.

Survivors include his widow, Verna; a son, Maurice, of Lynwood; three stepsons, Alvin Marak of Tulsa, Okla., Bobby Jene Skvor of Milpitas, Calif. and Edwin R. Skvor of Lynwood; three grandchildren, one great-grandson and four step-grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters, Paul and Karl, both of Halstead, Herman of Lyndonville, New York, Mrs. D. S. (Elsie) Krehbiel and Mrs. E. H. (Marie) Krehbiel, both of Deer Creek, Okla., and Mrs. J. P. (Linda) Buller of Newton, Kan.

Rev. William C. Burnett of Lynwood officiated at the funeral. Burial was in the Inglewood Park Cemetery.
