She spent her childhood and received her elementary and secondary schooling in the Walton community. As a young girl she became aware of her need of a personal Savior and in simple child-like faith received the Lord Jesus as her own. On June 4,1933 she was baptized on the confession of her faith by Rev. Peter Richert and was received into the membership of the Tabor Mennonite Church.

She later returned to Bethel College, graduating on Aug. 5, 1960, with an A.B. in elementary education. Mother's teaching career gave her a great deal of satisfaction and enjoyment. The school year of 1960-1961 was spent at Sunflower School north of Moundridge, and from 1961 until she entered the hospital she taught at the Hillcrest School.

She gave herself to the teaching program of the Sunday school, Daily Vacation Bible School, released time Bible classes, Wednesday evening classes. She was also active in the Women's Missionary circles. She was faithful in her church attendance and even at the time of death was a member of the Sunday school teaching staff.

Schroeder; one son, Duane David in the graduate school of Tulane University, New Orleans, La.; one daughter, Katherine Marie in Tabor College, Hillsboro, Kan.; her daughter-in-law, Lois (Epp) Schroeder; her parents, Mr.and Mrs. C.
